Guide for Authors

Before submitting a manuscript to the biannual journal Comparative Studies of Fiqh and the Principles of Islamic Schools, authors are required to carefully read the Author Guidelines.

Important Note: If authors currently have a manuscript under review by the journal, they should refrain from submitting a new manuscript until a final decision has been made on the previous one.

After registering in the journal submission system and thoroughly reviewing the Author Guidelines, authors must prepare and submit the following files in accordance with the instructions:

  1. Authors’ Information File (in Persian and English)
    b. Main Manuscript File
    c. Completed and signed Conflict of Interest Form
    d. Completed and signed Declaration of Commitment Form
    e. Similarity Check Report generated by the Samim Noor software

Notes for Authors

  • Please ensure the correct order of authors. The author names entered in the submission system will be used as the official author list in the published article.
  • For articles derived from theses or dissertations, the order of authors must comply with the regulations of the university where the student studied.
  • In multi-authored articles, all correspondence will be conducted exclusively with the corresponding author.

Entering Author Information in the System

The following information must be provided for each author (in both Persian and English):

  • Full name
  • Academic position (important)
  • Organizational affiliation, which must follow the format below:

Academic rank, department name, faculty/school name, university name, city, country, and organizational email address

  • Please avoid using academic titles such as “Dr.” or “Professor.”
  • Manuscripts authored by faculty members must be submitted using an official university or institutional email address. Personal email addresses (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) are not acceptable.
  • All authors must have an ORCID ID. Registration and issuance of an ORCID ID are free and available at: https://orcid.org/ (ORCID registration guide).

Article Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, based on the authors’ own research, and demonstrate innovation. Translations of previously published articles will not be accepted.
  • Manuscripts submitted for review must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo similarity checking by the journal experts. Based on the similarity rate, a decision will be made regarding peer review. Manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 10% will not be accepted.
  • Final acceptance for publication is subject to approval by the reviewers, scientific advisors, and the Editorial Board. Upon issuance of the acceptance certificate, publication rights are reserved for the journal.
  • Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their articles. Prior to submission, authors must complete, sign, and upload the Conflict of Interest and Declaration of Commitment forms available on the journal website.
  • The journal reserves the right to edit, summarize, and publish manuscripts. Submitted manuscripts will not be returned.
  • The views expressed in the articles do not necessarily reflect those of the Comparative Studies of Fiqh and the Principles of Islamic Schools journal.
  • After submission, all communication with the corresponding author—including acknowledgment of receipt, manuscript status, and subsequent correspondence—will be conducted exclusively through the journal’s online submission system. Please avoid unnecessary contact and track your manuscript only through the system.
  • Authors are requested not to submit more than one manuscript simultaneously to the journal. The journal office will not process additional submissions until a final decision has been made on the first manuscript.
  • The overall structure of the manuscript must strictly follow this order in the main file:
Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Statement of the Problem, Theoretical Literature, Research Methodology, Data Analysis/Findings, Conclusion, Recommendations, References, English Title, English Abstract, English Keywords.
  • The maximum length of the manuscript is 20 pages and 6,500 words, formatted according to the journal template (page margins: top 5.5 cm, bottom 6 cm, left and right 4 cm; line spacing 1 cm; font: Badr, size 12).
  • Persian and English abstracts must each contain 150–250 words (including objectives, methodology, data collection, and findings). Keywords should consist of 3 to 5 words.
  • The article acceptance process and workflow guidelines are available under the “Article Review Process” section on the journal website.
  • Manuscripts outside the journal’s scope will not be considered.
  • The journal reserves the right to make literary and technical edits without altering the core content of the manuscript.
  • A separate page must be attached containing the author’s full name, academic rank, department, faculty, university of employment or study, email address, and phone number.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the Comparative Studies of Fiqh and the Principles of Islamic Schools online system on the University of Kurdistan Journals Platform at: https://mfu.uok.ac.ir/ (prior registration is required).
  • Authors must cite at least one article previously published in earlier issues of the journal.
  • Upon manuscript submission, an email notification will be sent to all listed authors. Listing an author implies a substantial contribution to the manuscript. In cases of authorship misuse or lack of contribution, authors must immediately report the issue via the provided email. All authors are responsible for the originality of the work. The journal reserves the right to investigate plagiarism using approved software endorsed by the Ministry of Science.
  • Authors may acknowledge research sponsors, funding sources, or academic collaborators (if any) under the heading “Acknowledgements” before the references.
  • Authors are required to upload a statement confirming compliance with ethical considerations. After final acceptance and during submission of the final publishable file, ethical considerations must be included at the end of the extended English abstract (in English) and at the end of the Persian manuscript before the references.
  • Authors must conduct a similarity check using the Samim Noor system prior to submission. In addition to a similarity rate below 10%, the full similarity report must be submitted along with the manuscript.

Completion and submission of the Declaration of Commitment and Conflict of Interest forms (available in the Author Guidelines), bearing the authors’ signatures or official stamps, are mandatory at the time of submission.

Submission of an extended English abstract is mandatory.
