Is orientalism and reverse orientalism ending

Abstract

Confrontation with modernity and capitalism is the general problematic Islamic world in modern age. This general problematic contains both internal aspects(identity question) and external aspects(confrontation with modernity and capitalism). Confrontation with this problematic has been formulized and conceptualized in forms of orientalism and revers orientalism. These discursive forms have kept their dominance on academic spheres. Purpose of this article is discussing from the possibility unleashing discursive forms of orientalism and revers orientalism. In this article we analyze orientalism and revers orientalism and their internal tendencies. Then we illustrated their internal confinements. In the following we will ask that it is not possible to overrule this discourses without new conceptualization from relation between the universal and the particular. That universalism was not had illusion to return of pre orientalism age likewise it was not reminded in its inner. Both it was not depended on non historical idealistic doctrine and not post colonialism particularism.
